SIENA & S. GIMIGNANO
This is a half day tour, the first stop will be in Siena which is a medieval town famous for the Gothic style of the palaces as the Palazzo Pubblico on Piazza del Campo Siena's main square. Siena is Italy's most enchanting cities built on three steep hills and unchanged since medieval times, which is a must-see attraction of Tuscany. You will visit all the major sites like the gothic cathedral (Duomo) and the Torre del Mangia, Piazza del Campo, Ecco La Cucina, Mangia Tower (Torre del Mangia).
Twice a year around this square, a horse race is held known as Palio, which is a popular horse race that has been taking place for centuries. Take a walk in the narrow street is unbelievable as the Duomo one of the most beautiful church in Italy with his polychrome marble and an exquisite white and black marble geometric patterns are found inside.
Following the tour we proceed to the "Italian Manhattan" S. Giminiano, the Village of the towers. S. Gimignano, an enchanting medieval village that has taken the name of Bishop Gimignano who saved the city from the barbarians.
Here you will get to admire the famous towers and see the "Duomo" or Collegiate Church, the "Palazzo del Popolo", the "Palazzo Nuovo del Podestà ", S. Agostino Church, the Museum of Holy Relics and the infamous Museum of Torture, which displays early instruments of torture and reminds everyone that cruelty and violence existed even way back then.
